This series entitled " Same Mould, Same Mould" of Egg Tempera paintings I recently completed. The impetus for these paintings came from a past sculpture instructor,
Adriana Kuiper suggesting I do paintings from a recipe book, " Davis Dainty Dishes " that I had shown her. I put the idea on the back burner until I decided I would do them as something that would be lighthearted, and entirely different than what was my normal subject matter.
It was very challenging to say the least after spending a very difficult Winter feeling unmotivated to paint at all. Thank goodness I had a deadline to finish this series as I had a show June 3rd at
Struts Gallery in Sackville , New Brunswick.
It was a good lesson in discipline, and painting things you don't find really appealing in one way or another is a productive exercise!
