Quintessential Hip

I think like most Canadians that tuned in this past Saturday night to watch The Tragically Hip, I'm still thinking about the whole epic very Canadian event. A friend posted this tonight and I had to share it. This video link below is from SNL 21 years ago, in 1995. It's quintessential Tragically Hip. So good, so sweet, so Tragically Hip.

I can't believe I've never heard of these guys - they have a great sound! And on a side note, I didn't know Aykroyd was from Canada. Your country is fertile with wonderful artists of all talents!

Well it makes me very happy to know now you know Bev!

Yes Danny Aykroyd is a proud Canadian. Loads of Canucks on SNL many came out of Second City in Toronto. Mike Nichols, the producer of SNL is Canadian.

It's a common thing Americans not knowing, but we don't mind so much, we say were sorry a lot!

Yes Canadians are very proud of our home grown talent. We just wished the government would support our artists so they didn't have to leave!

What really bugs me is when people think Joni Mitchell is American! I really draw the line there! ;)
